Language Arts requirements (18 hours)
18 hours of English language arts courses beyond Common Core and Tier Two requirements.
The following courses are suggested in order to prepare for the state qualifying exam.
EN211  Grammar for Educators (3)
EN312  English Language and Linguistics (3)
EN323 or EN324 American Literature I or II (3)
EN340 or EN342 British Literature I or II (3)
Students must complete a total of 24 hours in English above EN120.

Mathematics Subject Area requirements (14-18 hours)
14-18 hours of math courses beyond Common Core and Tier Two requirements. (Courses must be above Intermediate Algebra)
The following courses are suggested in order to prepare for the state qualifying exam.
MA105 Elementary Statistics (3) if not taken in Tiers 1 or 2
MA224 Math for Elementary and MS Teachers (4) if not taken in Tier 2
Students must complete a total of 24 total hours in mathematics. 

Science Subject Area requirements (16-17 hours):
16-17 additional Science hours beyond Common Core and Tier Two requirements
Science courses in both physical and biological sciences are suggested in order to prepare for the state qualifying exam.
Students must have a total of 24 total science hours. 

Social Science Subject Area requirements (18-21 Hours)
18-21 hours of social science courses.
The following courses are suggested in order to prepare for the state qualifying exam.
HI101  World History I (3) or HI102 World History II (3) if not taken in Tier 1
HI117 Development of the United States I (3) or HI118  Development of the United States II (3) if not taken in Tier 1
HI205 World Geography (3)
PS101 Introduction to American National, State, and Local government (3) if not taken in Tier 1
